Guest Experiences: The Highlights and Considerations

Guest reviews of Art Hotel Santorini paint a nuanced picture, highlighting both the hotel’s strengths and areas for improvement.

  • Exceptional Staff Service: Many guests praise the warm and helpful hotel staff. For instance, Fragiskos and Ivan have been mentioned for their politeness and attentiveness, creating a welcoming atmosphere that often wins over guests’ initial impressions of Santorini.
  • Beautiful Views and Comfortable Beds: Visitors often enjoy stunning sea views and comfortable sleeping arrangements, especially in suites like the “Naughty Suite” with its private jacuzzi and ocean outlook.
  • Room Maintenance Issues: Some reviews point to maintenance challenges, such as inconsistent hot water supply, broken bathroom fixtures, and peeling paint around the rooms. These issues, while disappointing, seem to be isolated rather than widespread.
  • Breakfast and Dining: Breakfast offerings are simple, mostly featuring eggs and bacon, with limited variety. However, guests can order from the on-site Monx restaurant, known for its tasty and reasonably priced burgers—a popular choice for a late-night or casual meal.
  • Pool and Bar Facilities: Some guests have noted that the pool area and bar appear underutilized or in need of maintenance, with the bar sometimes closed and no music playing, which may affect the overall ambiance.
  • Safety and Accessibility: The hotel lacks reception services after 9 PM, which has raised concerns for some guests about emergency accessibility and security.

Despite some drawbacks, Art Hotel Santorini remains a compelling option for travelers who value:

I had mixed feelings about Santorini, but the staff at this hotel completely changed my mind. Fragiskos was extremely helpful and polite, and Ivan welcomed us every morning with a smile while serving breakfast. Spotless rooms, excellent service — truly 10/10. It would be a mistake to stay anywhere else but Art Hotel.

We stayed in naughty suite. On arrival the instructions are unprofessional they leave a card on the window showing instructions how to get in the room anyone can get in, however first entry to the room will make you see stars the naughty suite is beautiful. The tv isn’t smart in this room comes with greek tv if you’re lucky you’ll be able to watch SpongeBob. Come morning you don’t have much selection of breakfast all they have is eggs and bacon I wasn’t a fan and I’m from England I have scrambled eggs and bacon everyday day nothing to match my gorgon Ramsey like cooking, if you ask to Change breakfast they’ll just give you break orange juice and apples that don’t look edible oh yeah don’t wake up late for you’re breakfast otherwise it’ll go cold and stale outside the room. Overall apart from the breakfast the view from the naughty suite is amazing the jacuzzi is burning hot forgot to mention don’t wear you’re nice clothes to the jacuzzi it’ll stain them yellow/green and will ruin them. Some things are broken but nothing major. The best thing is the menu u can order from the restaurant is called Monx contains some of the best burgers I’ve had all year chicken/beef cheaper than most restaurants perfect for a before bed meal if ur hungry or just staying in the resort. Believe me food here is quite expensive.

The good: This is in a nice quiet location, abput a 10 minute walk from the Pyrgos city center. The suite we stayed in had a nice outdoor pool, which was great and looked over the area into the ocean, which made for some great sunset views. The breakfast was nice, being delivered to your room with some customization options. The staff were amazing and really friendly. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The bad: The room itself, while nice, had a few things that needed to be addressed. The toilet seat cover and seat itself were broken, so lifting them up and down was pointless. The blinds near the pool weren't working properly, and we had to struggle to move them. The area around the bed had a lot of cracks, and pieces of cement were peeling off. Overall, it was a nice hotel, but for the price, it needs a little work.

I stayed here for 4 days and during no day of our stay did we consistently have hot water in the shower—only one single day there was briefly hot water. We spoke with neighbors who stayed longer and they experienced the same issue. A technician and another staff member came and managed to fix one shower temporarily, but soon after it turned cold again and no lasting solution was provided. On top of that, the bathroom had a broken mirror and damaged shower tiles. Very disappointing and frustrating experience overall.
