The only taverna that was open in winter!the owner was like a mum that makes you feel home.the goat meat was amazing and amazing fried zuccini and eggplants with very tasty garlic sauce.
It is in a quiet place, 20 minutes walking from island center. Portions are very big and food was tasty. Only the Caesar salad can be enough for 2-3 people. Service was fast. After food, they gave small ice cream for free. Only bad thing was the air inside, it was hot and wet.
This, in my opinion, is the number one place to eat on Patmos. Although away from the main street and shopping area it overlooks the harbour and you can boat and people watch for hours. The food was so lovely. We had the Beetroot salad with garlic sauce, it came with garlic bread which was so scrummy. Then I had a fillet of fish, no idea what it was but something like tuna, with rice and chips (these chips are not like any other, they are lemony herby bites of delicious) and my partner had the beef in tomato sauce (lots of potato, tomatoes, herbs and beef all slowly cooked to perfection) all washed down with half litre of house white. The usual complimentary water melon as well as face wipe to clean palette and face. Interestingly the man who owns it we recognised from the square cafe over 20 years ago! You could never fail to recognise his perfect manners and pleasure at his work. He somehow makes your every choice seem like the very thing he would recommend, a slight incline of the head and the word "please" confirms the wisdom of your selection. If you do nothing else when on Patmos eat here and enjoy the atmosphere and views.
Huge portions of flavorful homecooked meals. Will definetely come back!
