Asteri is one of the best restaurants on the island. It's definitely worth the trip from the city, the views on the road and once you get there are beautiful. Visit the abandoned village of Anavatos or the lovely beach of Tigani before you eat and watch the sunset. Everything is delicious especially the Kontosouvli and the green balls. Highly recommend- don't go to Chios without visiting this taverna.

Never disappoints me and my guests. If you want to see the beautiful sunset you should go at least 30 min before the sunset. Don’t forget to make reservation or you may need to sit inside that will not be fancy especially in summer time. Try Traditional Sheftalia, you won’t regret it 🤤 The staff is amazing and always kind to you. The prices are a bit comparing the rest of the island but definitely worth it.

We went here twice actually, once on a Sunday afternoon and again for a sunset dinner. Both times the service was great, specifically for our dinner—kind and helpful staff. We did not think to make a reservation but were accommodated anyway (strongly recommended now that I know, they were very busy even on a Wednesday) but summer is surely almost always like this with the additional tourists. Prepare to wait a bit, and maybe you’ll have to be a bit assertive to get your waiter’s attention, it’s normal. But we had no problems. Orestis was very friendly and gave us good advice on the wines, he is actually trained in this area and very knowledgeable. Don’t order too much to start, the plates each have a lot of food relative to their low price point. You will be full before you know it! Sunset is amazing, as many others said. Great ambiance, great location. Nothing else to add, fantastic place!

The sunset view is beautiful, and we enjoyed our meal at a lovely table facing the scenery. We visited during sunset, which is naturally a very busy time. It felt like the number of staff was limited, so they couldn’t provide as much attention to each table as they might have wanted, though it might have just been our experience that evening. The dakos salad and lamb chops were delicious. They also offered fruit as a treat to other tables, but not to us, which was a bit surprising.
