A modern restaurant that holds strong roots to the traditional Cretan cuisine. You will come across many popular local dishes, most of them have a twist and have been elevated just enough to still maintain their origins. We were seated inside which I found to be more in par with the village house experience for a winter day and since it was Sunday the inside was much more quieter. Some things could have been better but none big enough worth mentioning. Would definitely visit again.

✨ A Hidden Gem in Heraklion✨ From the moment you step inside, you can feel the love and care the owner has poured into this place. It beautifully blends traditional charm with a modern, cozy vibe with warm lighting, rustic touches, and an atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. But let’s talk about the real star of the show: the food. Every dish was a masterpiece, crafted with incredible attention to detail and bursting with flavor. We started with freshly bakedsourdough bread served with a vibrant tomato dip. It’s simple, yet so satisfying. Then came the starters: the Pastourama pies, which were like crispy spring rolls filled with savory beef, and the Graviera cheese saganaki, a golden-fried delight that was rich, gooey, and utterly addictive. We devoured them in no time and eagerly awaited the mains. And wow, did they deliver. * Xinochontros with apaki and gruyere cream: Think of it as a Cretan twist on risotto. It’s creamy, comforting, and topped with tender grilled pork slices. * Handmade ravioli with minced lamb: Delicate pasta parcels packed with flavor. * Beef cheeks with smoked eggplant purée: It’s my personal favorite. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the smoky eggplant added a beautiful depth. * Grilled squid with fennel panna cotta: A standout dish! The squid was perfectly cooked, and the pairing with lemon jelly and roe was genius. It was fresh, zesty, and elegant. We couldn’t resist dessert and went all in with profiteroles, a lemon tart, and the showstopper, kunefe. Each one was beautifully presented and delicious, but the kunefe stole the spotlight. Crispy, sweet, and perfectly balanced. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. It’s that good and we could not recommend it enough.
